Ingredients

  • 3 Piece Burger Buns
  • 450 gm Ground Beef
  • Cajun seasoning (to taste)
  • 85-113 gm Blue Cheese, Crumbled
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Sliced Tomatoes
  • Sliced red onions (optional)
  • Pickles (optional)
  • Mayonnaise (Optional, for spreading on buns)

Equipment

  • Grill or stovetop skillet You'll need a grill or a stovetop skillet to cook the burger patties. Make sure it's preheated before cooking.
  • Mixing Bowl: Use a mixing bowl to combine the ground beef with the Cajun seasoning and shape the burger patties.
  • Spatula or grill tongs These are essential for flipping the burger patties and handling them on the grill or skillet.
  • Cutting Board and Knife: Use these to prepare any additional toppings such as lettuce, tomato, and onion.
  • Cheese Grater (if needed) If you're using block cheese instead of pre-crumbled blue cheese, you'll need a cheese grater to shred it.
  • Toasting Device (Toaster or Skillet) If you prefer toasted burger buns, you'll need a toaster or a separate skillet to toast them.
  • Serving platter or plates Use these to serve the assembled Black and Blue Burgers.

Method

  1. Prepare the Burger Patties:
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with Cajun seasoning. Mix until the seasoning is evenly distributed throughout the meat.
Divide the seasoned beef mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  2. Preheat the Grill or Skillet:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or heat a stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook the Burger Patties:
Place the burger patties on the preheated grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
If you're adding blue cheese to the burgers, you can place the crumbled cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to allow it to melt slightly.
  4. Prepare the Burger Buns:
If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden brown.
  5. Assemble the Burgers:
Place each cooked burger patty on a toasted bun.
Add any desired toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles.
If you haven't already added blue cheese to the patties while cooking, you can sprinkle crumbled blue cheese on top of each burger patty.
  6. Serve and Enjoy:
Serve the Black and Blue Burgers immediately while they're still warm.
Enjoy your flavorful creation with your favorite side dishes or accompaniments.
