Wash the romaine lettuce heads thoroughly under cold running water. Shake off excess water and pat dry with paper towels. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.
Grate the Parmesan cheese using a box grater or a micro plane grater. Set aside.
If you're using store-bought croutons, measure out 1 cup and add them to the mixing bowl with the chopped lettuce.
In a small bowl, whisk together the Caesar dressing and the juice of half a lemon. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and black pepper as needed.
Pour the dressing over the lettuce and croutons in the mixing bowl. Toss gently to coat the salad evenly with the dressing.
Add the freshly grated Parmesan cheese to the salad and toss again to combine.
Transfer the dressed salad to a salad serving bowl.
If desired, garnish the salad with additional croutons and Parmesan cheese on top.
Serve immediately as a refreshing appetizer or alongside your favorite main course.
